I'm Richard, a writer, editor, consultant and teacher based in Tokyo. I've always loved creating stuff. I wrote stories, poems and songs when I was a kid, devoured books and grew slightly obsessed with the written word and how it looked on a page or screen. Going on to study law and eventually be awarded a master's degree in International Law with Distinction helped me hone my research, analysis and writing skills, and also gave me an even greater curiosity for the world around us. I briefly taught law at the University of Manchester before leaving the UK for foreign shores. In 2000, I moved to Tokyo where I taught English and continued writing, reading, making music and reading tons of books. I have been lucky enough to have seen my work published in places like Wired, The Times Online, Metropolis, Japanzine and Serendib. Through my love of design and all things nice, I started storm from the east in 2006, which is still going strong. I now focus on my first loves: writing, reading and creating stuff, channelling my energy into helping my lovely clients communicate beautifully.
I'm happily settled in Japan with a beautiful wife, a wonderful son and another baby on the way. I still write and record the odd song too.
But enough about me, let's talk about you.
Drop me a line if I can help you, or even if you just want to chat. richard@k-creative-japan.com
